* 음악세계/기획특집/앨범가이드/아티스트리뷰/Jimi Hendrix(1942/11/27-1970/9/18) 

시애틀에서 태어나 런던에서 27세로 요절 전설의 활화산 기타리스트 사이델릭 블루스라는 장르를 개척한 왼손잡이 기타리스트로서 휀더기타와 마샬앰프의 절묘한 조합을 보여주었으며 Cry Baby Delay Machine 기타를 부수고 불태우는 전위적 퍼포먼스는 리치 블랙모어와 잉베이 맘스틴으로 이어지는데... 

핸드릭스는 B.B King, Ike & Tina Turner, Sam Cooke, Little Richard, Wilson Pickett, Isly Brothers, King Curtis등 60년대 초반을 누비던 스타들의 반주자로 활동하였다. 65년 자신의 밴드 Jimmy James & The Blues Flames로 활동하다가 해병대로 월남전에 참전(Billy Cox도 참전). Machine Gun은 반전작품 

67년 전설의 트리오 Jimmy Hendrix Experience결성 3매의 명반을 남겼다. 67년 역사상 최초의 3일간의 록 콘서트 몬테레이훼스티벌에 참여(67/6/16-18). 70년 9월 18일 27세로 요절한후에도 현재까지 헤아릴 수 없는 미발표음원들과 편집앨범 Tribute 앨범들이 끊임없이 발표되어 그의 신기의 기타를 흠모하고 있다 마치 비틀즈의 신화가 해산후 35년이 지났어도 식을줄 모르는 것처럼 말이다.
