과연 록의 역사상 최고의 기타리스트는 누구인가 지금까지 평론가들로부터 논란이 되고있는 이 문제는 대강 지미 핸드릭스와 에릭 클랩튼으로 압축되고 있다. 개개인의 관점이 모두 다르지만 통계적으로 클랩튼과 헨드릭스는 우열을 가리기 힘들 정도로 호각지세를 보여왔다
