Pulsar8 맥동성과 꽃가루 Pulsar는 천문학에서 맥동성(脈動星)을 일컫는다. 엄청난 속도로 회전하며 일정한 주기로 전파를 방출하는 모습이 마치 맥박(Pulse)이 뛰는 것같다 해서 붙여진 이름이다. 1967년 캠브리지 박사과정 학생인 조슬린 벨 버넬(Jocelyn Bell Burnell)이 최초로 발견했다.처음에는 주기적으로 전파를 방출해 지능을 가진 생물이 사는거 아닌 싶었단다.프렌치 프로그레시브 록에 한 획을 그은 Pulsar는 천문학 매니아였나 보다.발견한지 얼마 안된 별을 자신의 밴드 이름으로 채택했으니 말이다.이들의 1975년 데뷰 앨범 커버에 주기적으로 전파를 방출하는 맥동성을 2개나 그렸다.그리고 이 별들의 우주를 향해 꽃가루가 민들레 홀씨처럼 날린다.꽤 과학적이고 낭만적인 그림이다. 이 데뷰 앨범에는 서정적이고.. 2024. 7. 30.
