우리가 영국을 향해 했던 날.  춥고 바람부는 흐린 날씨였지.  모든 갈매기는 자리를 잡고,  여객선은 파선되었고,  우리가 알고 있는 어떤 사람들보다  우리 얼굴은 무척 초체하였지  그래서 우리는 손을 빌며 맹세했지  사나운 비바람이 거세어 지는 것을 보며  우리 모두는 선장의 심판을 저주하였어.  허드렛 일을 하면서  늙은 이들은 전에 본 폭풍의 이야기를 했어.  배가 심하게 흔들릴 때  선실 소년들은 숨으러 가고  37명은 난타를 당했어,  그리고 갑판장은 가로로 몰렸어,  폭풍의 바다의 손,  내 깊은 곳에 와 닿고, 나의 몸을 헤치고,  나는 결코 바다의 신을 알 수 없었죠.  나는 당신의 손아귀에 있는 장난감 하나였어요.  육지에서 온 소년, 나는 알몸으로 서 있어요.  오, 나를 놓아주세요, * Neptune : (로 神) 바다의 신.
