(1927/2/2-1991/6/6)64세로 타계(RIP) 필라델피아가 자랑하는 섹소폰의 달인 

타고난 음악성으로 어릴때부터 목관악기를 두루섭렵 하여 15세때는 프로에 데뷔하였다. (첫앨범) 이후 잭 티가든/스탄 켄튼/지미 도시/베니 굿먼(15-19세)등 당대 최고의 밴드들에 사이드맨으로 틴에이지 시절에 이미 확고한 입지를 굳혔다. 약관 20세가 되며(1947) 우디허먼밴드에서 40년대를 마감 하였다. 50년대로 접어들며 노먼 그랜츠가 주도하던 Jazz at the Philharmonic사단에서 세계적 명성을 얻기시작하였다. 이후 조빔과 질베르뚜를 만나 보사노바(브라질리언)재즈의 개척자로 스타덤에 올랐다.
