Folk group formed in New York City in 1961

consisted of Peter Yarrow (1938/5/31/New York City)/Paul Stookey(1937/11/30/Baltimore)/Mary Travers (1937/11/7/Loouisville)

Yarrow had worked the Newport folk festival in 1960 

Stookey had done TV work 

Travers had been inthe Broadway musical "The Next President" 

disbanded in 1971 & reunited in 1978...
