5. Dragonfly

As a star of creation

The pond's decoration

She's drawing her lines

Confusing, amusing in a glittering flight

Lingering up on a blade

Rocked by the wind

Shivering every now and then

She looks fragile, unreal, like a dream.

And you think she will vanish

But she's just spreading her wings

To rise towards the sky

Don't take it for granted

Like the frogs and bees--

Stay a while, forget your needs!

Creation, does not culminate

In women's breasts--

Come on, have a rest!

Take this pond with its beasts and its plants

With its sound and its smell,

With its perfection up to every detail--

Isn't it amazing?

Listen-- she must be around

Listen-- her wings sound

Here she is, marvellous!

But she is-- her fame--

A beautiful murderer

Like a military plane,

A remind of that kind of loreley women.

If only I could catch her!

If only I could take her home!

It seems to me in her presence

My room would change into reed a pond

All the cold cigarette-smoke

Becomes summerwind.

The hated alarm-clock

Would sound like the song

Of a hundred nightingales.

And every plastic thing

Is simply charmed away

It is as if magic itself

Was carried by this dragonfly
